Once upon a time, she was the proud daughter of the Hwangs. Unlike most Koreans, their family decided to settle in the West. It has been three generation since they last moved here. To raise up their children in hope of not being just any other Korean children/students. Was it a good or bad decision? No one knows. Hyo Joo had been the family favorite. She was smart and a pretty as a child. Everyone had high expectation of her since the family had no sons to rely on. The bubbly young girl's smile was soon wash away the moment she was sorted into Hufflepuff. To the family, it was a house unbefitting of a pureblood and it was also a house that many said to be where 'leftovers' are placed. A complete disgrace to the family.
Hyo Joo had always like the muggles and everything made by them. She finds it fascinating but had never expressed her heart's interest to anyone because she knew what she would faced. The timely or untimely sorting proves that her destiny and fate lies somewhere away from what she was decided to be ever since she was born a Hwang. She could now finally be who she really wanted to be but it comes with a price...her family officially disowned her on the day she graduate. No longer a minor and finally a qualified adult, she was left alone with a few remnants of her past and to survive all alone in this world.
The girl may be a young professor but she doesn't act like one outside of class. She is just another ordinary 23 year old. She was once a wealthy pureblood but now a mere professor renting a small apartment while working part time after school. Hyo Joo is a very friendly girland doesn't act like your typical elitist or pureblood. In fact, she acts the opposite. I have no idea how you are going to hate a nice girl but that's your choice.
