A sigh escaped Evelyn's lips as she opened a dusty textbook against a table She had been sitting in the library for only a few moments but ideas of procrastination had already started to settle in. Why would anyone take Muggle Studies? she wondered as she began to scan the first page. Evelyn had regretted her dissison to take the class since the year began. It seemed as thought would have been interesting, learning about the things different from the wizarding world. Evelyn had grown up there but her family seemed to be outside of the social norm for standard muggles. Further understanding of muggle technology might have been interesting, however her professor focused not the larger more stereo-typed definitions of muggle culture. Things that had defined Evelyn's childhood like so many other muggleborn students. And now she had to take notes over just that. She longed to be outside or doing something with even the slightest bit of interest or purpose. Evelyn supposed that this was for people either fascinated or alienated fly the non-magical society not ones from it.

Evelyn began to unravel a roll of parchment from her bag, reached for her pen. Her untidy handwriting began to fill the page. Occasionally she would scribble in a cuss word or doodle into the lines, trying to keep herself awake or the least bit amused. How silly she had been, the homework seemed to be unreasonable in proportion to the challenge the class posed. And yet she continued. The page she was on discussed muggle government theory. Evelyn Sighted again looking away from the book to watch an owl fly past the window.

She shook her head. Her heart wasn't in the place to note take. Evelyn needed to take her mind off of this meaningless task. She reached into her bag again, this time with more paper. Then she put her notes and textbook back into the main pocket. Evelyn turned her attention back to her new thoughts. Her eyes now purposely surveying the library and the window. Her hand began to follow the familiar curvature of the human form as Evelyn began to sketch the students and faculty near her. Evelyn had missed not being able to paint like she used to during the school year. The little she was able to accomplish sketching Hogwarts was enough of a relief. Evelyn started to form a main grouping of slightly incomplete people that snaked its way with a subtle diagonal across the page. She began to etch in small bits of the book cases and structure of the room.

What Evelyn found weird about drawing people from around Hogwarts was that she actually knew a good hand full, even if just by acquaintance. On holidays Evelyn would mainly paint things she saw in nature and would only occasionally stop at a cafe or take the train to draw. Drawing what was in the building was the simplest way to be creative here. Desecrate enough that she could render people's contours during class. Thankfully, hardly anyone bothered to notice. People act different when they realize they are being analyzed and converted into a few shapes and lines.

They normally seem to make it something more about them, ignoring what it does for the artist. Changes always seem to be suggested as the poke and prod at what had been created. Evelyn simply used this in order to take her mind off of her obligations and work. It connected her to her mother and the life she had left back in London. This wasn't after all a thing for anyone else. Evelyn found it so simple for her to loose herself in what she was doing, time would pass quickly. All thoughts of Muggle Studies drifting out of view.

in character: James walks out of his class. it was now his free period and he decided to get a book or something to read. James walks to the ravenclaw tower to get his things. He also planned to study while there at the library. he answers the riddle and walks in.

James goes to his dormitory right away but not in any particular haste. He comes in and and starts looking at his things and what to bring. He leaves textbooks for transfiguration and charms on his bed. He packs up the rest in his bag with a quill and container of ink. Before going he cleans his glasses.

James starts heading to the library at a slightly faster speed than others but this was just because he is quite tall and as such has longer steps than the other people, even a lot of the ones older than him. He enters the library and looks for a book to read for pleasure. He finds one and sits at a table and opens it. Planning on reading some of it before starting homework.

He notices the other student working on a paper. Or maybe just trying to work on it. They seemed like it was taking a lot just for them to stay awake. James puts away the casual book and pulls out his potions textbook. He still had a paper to write in their about several different potions and some of their more important ingredients
