She was going to take today off, whether people like it or not. She needs a day to herself for once and she is taking that day now. All of this ran through her head as she showered and changed, then left her room. She walked outside of the dorms and she felt the weather and she was happy. She was wearing just a blue tank top with a leather jacket over it, pants, and sneakers. She was relaxing for the say. Lia walked from the dorms over to a nice secluded area in the courtyard and she sat under a tree. There was sun out, so shew as safe from it here. At the same time, she was just glad to have her work done. She had stayed up late the past few nights just to get her work done so she could take this day off.
Airlia Adler, sure her name seemed to be a weird one, but she loved it, just like she loves being in Hufflepuff. Lia looks around the courtyard and she shakes her head at all of the students who were running around and the ones who were trying to do work. She chuckles lightly and pulls a book from her bag that she was carrying and she opens to the page from where she last left off. What was she reading. Well she was on the second book of the Mortal Instruments series. Sure it was made by a muggle, but she still loved the storyline. It seemed to be the right thing that she needed to read when she was bored.

A vampire, a nocturnal creature whose deadly enemy is the sun, was out in the courtyard. The Slytherin was in dire need for a change in environment especially since Halloween had just ended. Like every other major campus event (Eg: Valentine and Christmas), the number of couples increases dramatically within that one night and hence there was a sudden obvious lack of privacy at almost every secluded spot imaginable. As for Ken's usual spot, the library, it was suddenly filled with over studious students who were not there to date their books but the person beyond those books. Behind almost every bookshelf were couples in their own bubble, overflowing with physical affection. In times like this, he itched to abuse his prefect powers. To banish those love birds far away from his usual napping spot. Not that vampire sleeps but he just prefer the warmth of the shadow and its comforting solitary.
Feeling awfully nice and not yet ticked, he decided to venture outdoors since the weather was cloudy and threatening to rain. A perfect weather for a vampire. He climbed onto a tree and nestled on one of the branches. The leaves were thick enough to shield him for the sun or passing disciplinarian. With a book covering his face, he 'doze' off.
He had not realized the presence of another human below him nor the shifting clouds. The rain threatening sky had disperse allowing the Sun to reveal itself, it was highly determined to make its presence known to the oblivious Ken. Through the gaps between the leafs, the ray of sunlight managed to penetrate and aimed at the uncovered spot of skin. It was small but over a long period of time it had begun to irritate. At first he dismissed it as a bite of an insect but the burn smell said otherwise. Shocked and clearly forgetting he was on a tree and not the library, he lost his balance. By the inescapable will of gravity, he fell.
