70's Marauders: So it begins [Major canons needed]

Somewhere deep in the heart of the wizarding world, an evil is growing. This evil is like none no one has ever seen before. Muggle-borns and muggles are all disappearing, some are even turning up dead and no one knows who is behind it. At least, those that do know aren't letting very many in on the secret. But the truth is, there are a few men and women who call themselves death eaters causing this new spread chaos. And they're doing it to purge the world of those who are "unfit" to lick the dirt off of their shoes, much less be in their world. Keep in mind that they aren't the ones in charge. They are following a leader, or a lord, if you will. And he calls himself Lord Voldemort, to them he is their savior. In their minds, he is the promise of a beautiful new beginning. While the majority of the magical community is starting to panic, there is one place that is safe. So long as Dumbledore is around...

Hogwarts, the one place where Lord Voldemort and his death eaters have yet to effect. One has to wonder, does that have something to do with the dark lord's strange fear of Dumbledore? It must have, because the school has never been in danger of a breach. Then again, Voldemort isn't really ready to have his name well known, at least not when he's just building up his army...and attacking Hogwarts would certainly attract unwanted attention. Lord Voldemort has his followers and there are whispers of an organization being brought together by Dumbledore as well. They say it's called 'The Order of the Phoenix' and it's in its beginning stages. At least, that's what the rumors are saying. Whether or not they are true has yet to unfold.

Despite the fact that things are getting rather scary now, the students must return to (or begin at) Hogwarts. Parents are rather skeptical about sending their children away but, they have to admit it's probably the safest place for them at the moment. The same Which is how our marauders wound up back at Hogwarts for their second year. The year is 1971 and our four pranksters are twelve years old. This year should be interesting with our boys as their lives are beginning to come into place. How will this year go? Will they ever get along with Snape? Will Sirius get back in his family's good books? Will Peter become more like the others? Will James get Lily to like him a little bit? And where does Remus disappear to once a month? All of these questions probably won't be answered this year but stranger things have happened at Hogwarts.
