The first few weeks of a new term were rather chaotic. Students running all over the grounds of the campus trying to find their classes and supplies. She remembered her first year here rather vividly, how nervous she was mixing in with the Hogwarts kids. There were alot more of them here than foreign schools.. or at least it felt like it at times. Yet it seemed that the UoH was much more accomadating than she could have imagined. It was strange to be in this adult world now, being allowed to use magic as she pleased, and being away from home for long periods of time.

This year was going to be exceptionally lonely as her friends from last year chose not to attend this year. With her wand in her left hand, Aurore skipped a few rocks across the lake with a flick of her wrist. It was cheating to use magic but it made it all the more interesting to watch them bounce clear across the surface to the other side. Otherwise she was awful at skipping and the rocks would have stopped after they hit the surface and sunk.

Above her head a rather large black Raven soared above, cawing lazily as it seemed to be watching it's owner. It's size was a bit above normal, like a large black hawk one might think from a distance until they realized what it was. "Here's to boredom." she muttered to herself as she watched a few first years go by her. They were huddled together talking excitedly, though they didn't seem to notice her. It didn't surprise her either, they probably thought they were late for something. Sighing once more, she turned her gaze elsewhere and spotted someone she thought she recognized a ways away.

"HEY! DON'T I KNOW YOU?!" she shouted, rather than making the effort to go over. It was sure to draw the attention of more than just the person she was shouting to.

Emilie hadn't initially wanted to return to complete her studies, she had hated her first year, just like she had been at school she was once again a loner, a outcast. she seemed to stand out from the crowds wherever she went, hearing snide comments about her father being a squib. the comments shouldn't really get to her anymore, firstly because she had been getting the same abuse shouted at her for the past nine years and secondly she hadn't seen her father in nearly ten years, not since he had found out what she was.

wandering down the lake she had her headphones on, she loved the fact she had been raised in the muggle world or she wouldn't have this and life would be boring, it was another reason she stood out, she always had stuff like her ipod, her phone and other technology which if you gave to any other student most likely wouldn't know how to work them. sinking to the floor at the roots of a tree she flicked through her music.

even with her music blasting she head the girl shouting, her head shot up to see who it was, she knew the person from her voice looking was just to make sure she had been right in guessing who it was that had called her, she'd known her back in Beauxbatons. Aurore. Emilie smiled to herself, Aurore had been one of a few people that hadn't made her life hell while she. Emilie could admit that she had even had a thing for the girl. she wasn't her usual type but she had treated her like a normal person, and before Em knew what was happening she was crushing on her, it had lasted a while but she had got over it knowing nothing would ever happen between the two.

standing up she made her way over to the girl a smile still firmly on her face "erm yeah, Emilie Bellamy" she offers her hand to take the other girls "we went to Beauxbatons together" she figured she was just a face from a memory to the girl

Most people seemed to ignore her random outbursts. She was known for being loud when she was excited about something. Right now that something was the fact that she saw a face that she recognized for once. It was always nice to find a friendy face out of the bunch, even one who she partially remembered. Aurore felt bad that she did not remember the girls name, only that she had always found her interesting. She kept to herself from Aurore remembered, that was why she was drawn to her, she had a habit of being drawn to those who seperated themselves from the herd.

"Emilie," she repeated as if she was remembering. It had been at least a couple years, hopefully Emilie was not offended by the pensive look on her face. "..wait! I've got it. You're the girl that was always hiding somewhere in the back of the class. I used to bother you alot didn't I?" she said, laughing. She knew that she had a bad habit of talking alot and usually she chose the people who seemed like they wanted to be left alone to pester. Aurore was always kind at least, tried to make them feel welcome, but she also had a tendancy to dominate a conversation.

There was a warm grin on her face as she took the girls hand and shook it gently. "Either way it's great to see you again! Is this your first year here or have I been entirely oblivious to the people around me for a year?" she asked, though she would not be surprised. In her first year she had been one of those freshies who ran around like a chicken with their head cut off. Most of it was spent trying to stay afloat, there wasn't much time to make too many friends or flirt. Tucking her wand away into her robe, she realized that it seemed a bit rude of her to have it out at the moment.

"What have you got there?" she asked, pointing to Emilie's device. Aurore was amongst the many witches and wizards who had little knowledge of muggle tools and electronics.

Emilie couldn’t help but smile at she stood trying to remember who she was, the fact it had been here to call Emilie and then struggle to remember who she was amused the blonde girl. She laughed a little when she remembered who she was. Used to bother her? Em had never thought of it as her being bothered, she had enjoyed the other girls company. “well your partially right, yeah it was me who would hide at the back of class so no one would pester me but I didn’t mind being pestered by you” she had felt like she had been bothered by a lot of people but never Aurore it made sense really with the way Emilie had felt for the girl.

The smile on her face grew as the girl took her hand to shake it “erm I’ve been here a year already, but honestly I didn’t know you were here either so I guess we were both oblivious to who has been around us for the past year” not entirely true, Emilie knew she would recognize the girl if she had seen her so she had figured the two of them hadn’t crossed paths up until today. 

Looking at what she was indicating to, she took her headphones off and put them on the other girl “prepare yourself” she turned the volume of the ipod down and pressed play so the girl could hear the music being played. She watched her curious as to how she would act to the music suddenly playing.

Emilie didn't seem bothered by the fact that she had to take a short pause to jog her memory. For one reason or another the girl was smiling at her which immediatly made Aurore feel better about herself. It would have been pretty rotten luck to start a new term off already having pissed someone off which would have also stressed her out alot. It was even more of a relief that she already seemed to take a liking to Rori which made it alot easier for her to relax and perhaps slow down her chatter a bit. Often she spoke alot when she was nervous or making an introduction to avoid seeming uninteresting.

"Glad to hear it. I don't think I would have made it an entire class without having someone else to talk to." she said, smiling. She had a ton of other friends back at Beauxbatons but alot of the girls there were superficial and the word friend was sort of open to be re-defined on a whim. Even though they were never officially friends or hung out together outside of class Rori saw no reason as to why they could not do so here. "I mean I tend to make people mad alot. I have a habit of nervous talking and I tend to fill all the silence gaps since it makes me sort of anxious." she admitted, laughing.

Whem Emilie shook her hand she smirked, taking it back slowly as she nodded in reply. "Yeah I guess the first year will do that to you. I spent most of it running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Now you could say I am something of a pro when it comes to navigating this place." she said, seeming pleased with herself. Of all the places she could have ended up she definitely felt lucky to have ended up here. Now her boredom would come to an end for a bit, something she prayed for since the moment she got up this morning. It was just one of those days where the thought of being alone was incredibly depressing.

Aurore raised a brow when the girl put the headphones on her. Though it was quickly clear why she did so and what their function was. When the girl pressed play, Rori was greeted by the sound of muggle music, though she could not indentify what it was. There was a smile on her lips as she looked down at the device and then back up to Emilie. "This is fantastic! What is it? What is the name of this tune?" she asked, so many questions at once. She couldn't help but sway her body a bit on the spot as she listened, any music often made her dance, she wasn't very paticular when it came to music.

Emilie hadn't minded that Rori had stuggled to remember who she was, she had one of those faces people tended to forget, she didn't really mind either just meant that they didn't bother, the fact Rori reconized her in the first place was a shock on its own let alone the fact she was then able to remember who she was, was the first time it had happened to Em normally they would just walk past and ignore here.

laughing a little Emilie rolled her eyes "yeah you were one of only a few that didn't annoy me" well she had been the only one in her year she could stand, Rori had always seemed different to the other girls at the school, she had always stood out to Em. "I tend to make people mad too so don't worry about it" she laughs a little more, it was true she was always making people mad over something stupid, normally it was cause she had hit on some girls boyfriend or something like that, she was always causing trouble and making enemies.

"I spent most of my first year hid in a classroom trying to get away from people annoying the hell out of me" she shrugs, it wasn't really surprising that she hadn't seen Rori before today she did spend most of her time in an old un used class messing around casting spells, practicing since she wasn't very good when it came to magic.

she smiles at her reaction to the ipod playing music "it's an ipod, its basically how muggles listen to music. your listening to fall out boy - thanks for memories" she wactches as the girl dances to the music.

Well that was a relief, normally she was on the top of that list for anyone else. Still it was she was not going to complain about that one. With a smile, Rori seemed pleased that the other girl would be quite easy to get along with then. Though it took her all of this time to realize that she had never properly introduced herself. "Oh right, forgive me. I'm Aurore." she said, though she figured Emilie already knew that much. If she did not, she would have most likely asked for a name.

"Well then this university is not going to know what to do with either of us then." she said, laughing aloud at Em's comment. She had a feeling that the two of them would cause so much trouble if given the chance that they would most likely be booted from a class. Perhaps it was best though that she learned a little self control this year. Considering the fact that it was her parents money that paid for any of this she would rather avoid potentially pissing them off.

"I tend to pull alot of pranks. If you ever need a hand with something or someone, you let me know." she said.

Knowing Rori she was just too absorbed in whatever she was doing to notice Em last year. She got like that at times when she was focused. Her parents rode her hard, she was a great witch when she put her mind to it and had a natural talent when it came to using magic. The downside was that she was born to procrastinate and felt no real urge to be what everyone told her she could be. "I can see why. Alot of the people who attend seem to have some sort of need to show off or parade their blood status around." she said, shaking her head.

Returning the headphones to Em, she smiled at the girl with a wide grin. "Well thank you for sharing that with me. It's fabulous, I'll have to see about getting one for myself. Maybe you can recommend a list for me, I'd be more than happy to check it out. Muggles are pretty interesting."

"I know who you are" she shrugs a little "it's hard to forget someone like you" looking down at the ground she bites her bottom lip lightly. she wasn't going to elaborate on what sort of person Rori was and why she wouldn't forget her, she thought it was best to safe herself the embarresment of telling Rori how she had once felt about her.

lifting her head she laughs a nervous laugh, she had a point the place really didn't know what it was in for with the two of them rooming the corridors. Em had already caused a few problems already since returning and well she had caused a few fights to break out "your right there we've only been back here a few weeks and well I have already caused some trouble" she shrugs again, shrugging it off as if it was nothing. "ahh see no I tend to cause a lot of trouble with couples by flirting with one or both of them" 

trying to not let the comment about blood status get to her she forces a smile "hmm or make me feel crap about the fact I was born to a muggle and a squib" she tried not to sound bitter about it but it was hard to do when she was quite upset by the subject. she hated how people judged her about her blood status, she wasn't a muggle born nor was she a half blood she was somewhere in between all fucked up because the magic had died out and then decided to reapear in her. "I find a lot of people put me down cause of it, even back at school. you know you were one of about three that never called on it"

putting the headphones around her neck she turns the music off before looking at the girl "I have another back home, I'll write to my grandmother and see if she will send it to me, it's an older model but it does all the same sorta stuff, hasn't been used in a while. I'll just add some more music on it for you" she offered

There was a smirk on Rori's face as Emilie admitted that she knew who she was. She had never known that anyone truly bothered to care or remember her name. Considering that she was often loud and exciteable which seemed to bother most she would not have been hurt if someone chose to forget her. "Someone like me? What does that mean?" she asked, raising a brow at the comment. She of course assumed that Em meant nothing disrespectful by it since she seemed to be pretty cool other wise. If she had known that Emilie was this chill she would have made more of an effort before now to befriend her.

While the two of them seemed so alike they were both very different at the same time. They both enjoyed causing trouble, but Aurore's brand of trouble was cheeky and light hearted. From the sounds of it Emilie had a different idea in mind when it came to causing trouble. Aurore had seen the many couples around the school and could only imagine the hijinx it would cause for her to flirt and cause a couple to become at odds with one another. Angry young adults with magic well beyond their teenage years? It was surely a recipe for disaster. Laughing, Aurore shook her head at Emilie. "While that sounds like fun, I'd be careful of the backlash if I were you. Alot of people here are quick to whip out their wands." she said, giggling.

As the conversation went on she realized by her body language that this was not going to be an acceptable conversation topic. It was reinforced by the fact that she mentioned her heritage and sounded bitter about it. "Don't worry about it. I'm half blood as well and I can say without a doubt that it all comes down to whoever works the hardest. Blood means nothing." she said with a comforting smile. "I find it to be backwards and stupid. If I see anyone give you trouble over it I will personally hex them." she said, a small bit of fire in her eyes.

Shaking her head now at Emilie's offer, she waved her hands in front of her. "Oh I couldn't. At least let me give you something for it." she said softly. Emilie was trying to do something nice for her she realized, however she had always been taught to at least offer. It was an issue of pride she supposed, though she didn't really place much stock in it.

Emilie shook her head as the other girl smirked at her a giggle slipping from her lips, she couldn't help but giggle for several reasons when Rori was around. she for some reason made her nervous, Emilie felt like everything she said sounded stupid and sooner or later she was going to cause trouble by saying something she really shouldn't say. apparently that thing was going to be sooner or later "I meant it in a good way, you just stood out to me" yeah I had a thing for you so it was kind of hard to forget you she added mentally.

"yeah I usually make a quick get away when I find out I have made someone angry" she shrugs a little. she never meant to hurt anyone she just seemed to make it happen, how was she meant to know they were taken, marriage was one thing she was thankful about, a ring it made life so much more easier to deal with "they should were a tag to say their taken" she nods "it would make life easier on me"

she smiles a little sorry about her outburst about people making her feel bad because of her blood status "sorry it's just I went throughout school with everyone bar you tormenting me" she shrugs to herself her smile growing at the girls offer "well I will hold you to that offer if anyone gives me trouble I will come running to you to deal with them"she laughs a little 

"oh well there is one thing you could do for me, if you really want togive me something in return?" she smiles as she moves a little closer to the girl, she hoped she would say yes to what she had in mind "you need to promise me you won't freak when I tell you what I'm about to"
