Just a normal aftermath of breakfeast (open)

    Victor stayed silent. His older brothers weren't exactly of any help to him. So how would viewing Alex as one of them help? He didn't know. There was a lot of things he didn't understand but they were more toward the family or social areas. Magic was easier to learn than Victor understanding family matters or social situations. Victor only nodded his head. It was all he could think of to do.

"You aren't liking that idea are you?" Alex commented, noticing that Victor had gone quite again. He pursed his lips together and scrunched his eyebrows up in to a thoughtful face. "Humm, don't worry, we'll work something out." He promised the boy.

With that, Alex noticed that the food was almost completely gone, so he hurried to grab a few more sandwiches and stacked them on his plate. Turning his attention half on his food and half on the boy, the older boy quietly at his food while contemplating on how to help this nervous young man out.

    "M...my brothers...we...were never....." Victor started after Alex had finished speaking. "S...so....it's not you. It..it's just..."

    It was just the whole concept of it. It wasn't Alex himself it was just the fact that his brothers, his real brothers all of them blood related. Never were, supportive or helpful to him. Sure, they helped give him the personality he has. Yeah. Really helpful they were. All three of them.

Alex listened once again to Victor's mumbling speech. Oh his brothers never treated him right or something of that sort? Well that's a bummer. But then again, his older brother wasn't that great either. Sure they help each other out most of the time, but other times, Roger only cared for himself.

Nodding his head, the boy said, "Oh I see. Well I guess I get what you mean. My brother wasn't that great either. Tend to leave me to fend for myself all the time."

Alex glanced out into the now almost cleared Dining Hall. He finished eating his sandwiches and leaned his head against his arms that were propped up on the table before them. He smiled slightly at Victor as he looked at him.

    "T...try having three..." Victor said as he held up three fingers at the same time. "They...never really cared either."

    After a few moments, he let his hand drop to his side as he sat there. Kind of pathetic huh? The fact that he was talking to a random student about his brothers hit him as a bit strange and made him think it was pathetic of him to. After all, there was a time and place for talk like that. Plus, certain people to talk to about stuff like this.

Try having three...

Alex smiled and shook his head. "I don't think I can even do that. Having three brothers is a tough thing isn't? Especially when the don't care. But I swear, I'll do everything in my power to make sure to help you when you did it alright?" He held up his right hand like he was swearing on a bible.

Watching Victor drop is hands to this side lamely after speaking, Alex sighed. "It's alright to speak about your family with someone. I'm not really a stranger for I'm in you school, in your house right?" The boy's blue eyes shimmered with warmth, trying to make the other boy believe him and lighten up.

    Victor was surprised that he survived them. His three brothers were all older than him and much bigger than him. Maybe not exactly size wise but they were bigger in terms of muscle. Course, Victor wasn't going to say it out loud. He just met Alex how many minutes ago? Yes they were in the same school; obviously, and in the same house. But that didn't really mean that they knew each other all that well.

    "W...we are in....the same..house..." Victor answered, course Alex really didn't need a answer to tell that did he? Course not.

Okay, that wasn't exactly what Alex was looking for. Oddly enough when that sentence slipped out of his mouth, he felt rather stupid. Also the way Victor responded to it, made him feel even more stupid. The boy sighed and shook his head a little. "God, I feel so stupid right now." He said with a frown.

Still frowning at his own stupidity, Alex growled slightly to himself before turning to Victor. "You know, you have the power to just send me away. You don't have to force yourself to be my friend. I just want to help you that's all. Maybe I have some sort of a hero complex."

    Victor stayed quiet when he heard what Alex said to himself. It was probably caused by his answer.

    "The table's...public property....of the school..." Victor started. "It's free....for all....Plus....same...same house. No...Nowhere else to go."

    Pretty much he was saying that he really didn't have the right to send Alex away. Since they were sitting at the table. He wasn't sure on how to respond to the friend part.

    "R...Real friend or....or fake friend?" Victor eventually asked, pretty much a question of 'are you really going to be a friend, or are you just going to pretend and then reveal you never were?'

Hearing Victor's response to his first comment, Alex gave him a slightly pained look. "No that's not what I mean Vic. I know this table is school property. I mean that you could just tell me to stay away from you or something of that sort."

Alex's pained look turned into a deadpanned one. "Victor, look at me. Do I look like someone who will do that to you? No I'm serious about being your friend. I don't do fake ones. Once I'm someone's friend, I'm basically friends with them for life. I'm a very loyal person."

Seriously, what kind of damage did this boy's family do to him to make him this way? Alex got angry just thinking about it. Sure his brother maybe self centered, but he was sure that Roger would never treat him like a stranger or an outcast.
